Lately....

My mission....

On the corner of Roeland street, in Cape Town, is a beautiful little bookshop that comply to all my idealistic expectations of what a booskhop should be.

 

I often drive past it but today I decided to pay the shop a little visit ...and boy, am I glad I did!!!!

It was in this little shop, between shelves and tables stacked with books that I decided on my litery mission for 2012: to read 12 classics this year. One each month. Books that I always wanted to read but never got around too.

So my mission began today and I bought my first two books...

 

...which came wrapped in beautiful brown paper.

Initially I decided on Anna Karenina but unfortunately the last one sold out this weekend so while I am waiting for my order to arrive....

....I am going ahead and reading Flaubert's "Madam Bovary".

Like most of the books I have read/want to read, it was recommended by a friend. I make little lists at the back of my diary. I am such a nerd, I know!!!

Oh, and I got Dr.Seuss just for fun.

Gosh, I havent done one of these in ages. Sometimes taking pictures seems such a shlep when you are having fun. I promise that I will do these more though!

I'm not sure how much of a role my childhood impressions of "Titanic" played in this fantasy but I've always dreamt about a cruise on a luxury liner.

When the opportunity arose in the form of a groupon deal, 20 girlfriends and I grabbed it with both hands. So this past weekend we...

... set sail from Cape Town...

..and while our hair was dancing in the wind, we pretended that we were Rose.

We spend our days sunbathing, ...

...playing bingo,

and eating yummy food.

When the sun set, we drank yummy cocktails,

whilst watching shows in the Jazz lounge,

...and danced underneath the stars.

Lately,

I've been teaching again.
A new school with new kiddos and new challenges.

Slowely I'm learning about Geography and hearing aids, love, patience and how beautiful children's hearts can be.

Man, I love my job.
