A Weekend in Pictures #28

This past weekend went by way to fast. Knysna had to much to see but sadly I had to little time. Forests and beaches and white picket fences are so right up my alley. See you soon beautiful Knysna.

Models Smodels,

For a recent assignment in photography class, I had to photograph motion...

I would lie if I said that capturing movement in an esthetically pleasing way, wasn't a bit daunting at first...

..but with lovely smodels like these, it was a piece of cake!

Lately,

Lately,

I've been planning... what to pack. The next couple of months will be jam-packed with trips...and my adventurous heart couldn't be happier.

I've been eating....pickled onions, Pho Bo and Turkish apricots.

I've been dreaming about....another Asian adventure!

I've been splurging on.... make-up.I'm not to sure if it was the name, or the colour that got me but I am pretty sure M.A.C's Shanghai Spice lipstick was made for me.

I've been reading... "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini and cried like a baby. It's one of those really sad, beautiful books that you just cant put down. Do yourself a favor!

I've been looking forward to...this coming weekend's escape to the forest, winter vacation, a June filled with birthday celebrations and Skype calls from faraway lands.

I've been wearing.... high heels. This is quite surprising as I am usually a "flats" girl and, up until now, owned only one pair of heels that I kept for special occasions like weddings or formal affairs. A few months ago my mom gifted me with a pair of heeled leather ankle boots. They were just to beautiful not to be worn so I tried it out and gradually learned to love heels. I just bought my third pair and prancing around on heels non-stop.

I'm thankful for... hot cocoa on winter nights, trips away with friends and family,  Adobe Lightroom (what a blessing), mushroom dumplings with an old sweetheart and finally understanding aperture!

I'm in love with ... Leonardo Di Caprio. What a brilliant Gatsby he is!!! I've always had a little crush on this beautiful man and lost my heart to him way back with Titanic. Fifteen years later, he still has what it takes.

What have you been up to lately?

Recently winter beaches and a pretty party dress, a new potted beauty and lots of tea as well as a lovely book all the way from New York made my days prettier.

Pictures

Ever since I got an iPhone my photos on this blog has been dominated by those taken on my phone. Recently I whipped out my SLR and it feels so good to take "proper" photos again - even if they are slightly over-exposed or blurry.

Lately,

I've been planning... to blog more. It didn't happen.
I've been eating....grapefruit. They are finally back in season and I am upping my vitamin C intake. Fun fact: I ate citrus fruit every day during the previous winter and did not catch a cold once. I'm pretty sure that my citrus obsession had something to do with it. I'll be doing the same this winter, just to double check that my theory is accurate ;)
I've been dreaming about.... ex boyfriends. No, I am serious. Strange dreams about the men I use to love...and then I wake up all confused and thankful. Any dream annalists out there? Oh that, and daydreams about September in Turkey!
I've been splurging on...a nude coloured clutch bag, a Burgundy cardi and this plant.
I've been reading...The Great Gatsby. I always wanted to read it but never got so far. With the movie due for release sometime next week, I decided the time had come. I read Gatsby in one day, I just couldn't put it down. What a brilliant book!!! Now I cant wait to see the movie. I am a HUGE Baz Luhrmann fan so I'm counting the days...which brings me to the next point...
I've been looking forward to... the release of The Great Gatsby. Oh, Leo, first Romeo and now Gatsby?! Do you want to kill me?
I've been wearing....Love, Cloe. By default I am a Chanel  girl but I received Love, Cloe as a gift and cant get enough of it.
I've been struggling with...getting out of bed in the mornings. Almost overnight the sun started rising a little later, the air is cooler and the past week I woke to morning rains which makes me want to cuddle up just a little longer!
I've been happy about...receiving a package from New York filled with some of my favorite things. He just knows me so well!
I've been creative...with Depth of Field. I've just started my second (more comprehensive)photography course. I will share some pics shortly!

What have you been up to lately?

I just cant get enough of this movie (and it's soundtrack)!
Hope you have a happy Monday

A Weekend in Pictures # 26

Slowly summer is turning into autumn and sunny days are fewer. I love this time of year where the weather is a bit cooler but still nice enough to go for leisurely walks on the promanade. And thats exactly what my sister and I did. Sunday morning as soon as the sun showed her face, we went to the seaside. Im one of those lucky people who can say that my sister is also a really good friend of mine so I treasure moments where we laugh at our own jokes and break our diet with strawberry milkshake.

I want to ride my bicycle...

Cycling didn't come naturally to me as a kid . My family still joke about then time I slammed into the scrum machine, testing out my new BMX. They think its hilarious that I would choose to crash into the only thing standing on a open rugby field. I don't think its so funny - having a scar on my knee as a reminder of the unlucky encounter might have something to do with absent sense of humor. Lucky for me, adulthood made up for it and now one of my favorite memories is cycling through the gardens of Versailles.

So it's with serious cycling envy that I share these pics of the 2013 London Tweed Run that happened today. Not only do these guys get to cycle through the streets of London on vintage bicylces!!!!! But wearing tweed is compulsory.

Vintage bicycles guys?! Tweed!!!

Oh, how I wish Cape Town would host one of these!!
