ADDICTED

Ever since I've heard that I am moving to Cape Town, I've been spending way to much time on decor blogs. I am not quite sure if I should be worried but I am pretty convinced that I am close to being addicted to design*sponge.

Lately I've been spending my days in ethereal highs, daydreaming about...

... floral chairs and hallway trees....

...dining room tables with a medley of vintage chairs....

...tapestry scatters and collages...

 ...a hanging clothing rail.....

....a cozy breakfast nook....

..exposed brick walls and Chinese lanterns...

...linen cupboards....

...bookshelves...

...shower curtains with lots of ruffles....

... a pretty place to study...

...a floral print above my fridge...

...and a collage of mirrors!

Yup, I am hooked!!!

Oh, and before I forget...

...happy Pepero Day!!!!

If I could borrow one holiday from Korea and make it a South African tradition, it would be PEPERO DAY!! I love it so much!!!! Surprisingly, it was not as difficult to find Pepero in South Africa, as I thought it would be. Unfortunately I am like the only person in this country celebrating it, so Pepero Day won't  be half as exciting as last year and sadly no Pepero for me.

Nothing will stop me to celebrate Pepero Day though and as a start of a new tradition, a choc-stix-surprise awaits Chris tonight!

Goodbyes

Today is my last day of teaching at my current school before the exam begin and soon I will be moving back to Cape Town! Although I am super excited to move back to Town, "goodbye's" are always a sad affair.

A surprise farewell party with...

..delicious cupcakes....

....black board messages....

....posing for photos....

....group hugs....

....tons of letters...

....even a gift....

....combined with some singing, dancing, impersonations.....

....and some more photo taking....

...does, however, allow for a bittersweet goodbye.

I hate goodbye's but gosh,  I do LOVE my job!!!!

Today I am thankful for....

....MACARONI AND CHEESE!!!

I am quite convinced that M&C is the ULTIMATE comfort food!!!

Every Thursday, during first break, us teachers get together for what we call "Ladies Lunch". This means the female and male teachers go to separate locations and we have a good chat and some yummy food. This lunch is specially prepared by one of the teachers and because we are 40 lady teachers each of us gets a turn during the year. We've had some awesome food so far - from hamburgers to cottage pie, cheesecake and quiche. ALL SO GOOD!

Tomorrow is my turn and guess what I am making?

It's almost the end of the school year, all of us have like loads of papers to grade and the exams are around the corner....I am pretty sure we could all do with a little but of macaroni and cheese  comfort!

(photos coming soon!)

Artistic Adoration...

I have to confess that I have a little crush on photographs taken in art galleries. One of my favorite memories of Chris is the time we went to Tretchikoff's exhibition. Gosh, we had soooo much fun.  In my book, a trip to an art gallery (finished of with a cup of coffee in the beautiful Cape Town gardens) is the perfect date!!!!

This morning my photographer friend, Henk, posted this picture on Facebook and I just had to share..

He is really talented so be sure to go check out his work here .

As for the rest of my collection....

...this one is my favorite....

...and this one!!

...Darn it, I love them all!!!!

(Unfortunately I can't credit most of the above images as I collected them over the months - you would most probably find them on http://www.pinterest.com/ and http://www.weheartit.com/  - but if you know who the artist is, please feel free to do so.)

Today I am daydreaming about...

...a real, old fashioned typewriter so that I can write long letters to all my loved ones.
